Happy New Year everyone, yes it's been a while since our last newsletter, sorry work always seems to take over. We've just clicked over 32 000 hits in our community....Personally I'm stoked!

I am happy to say I am heading back to the Gold Coast Australia to assist in developing one of the number 1 radio stations in the area. I am looking forward to the new challenges ahead. While I am on the subject of Radio/TV, If you are a developing music producer please have a think about joining the audio production world by contacting your local station production manager. Their seems to be a lack of producers these days and I can personally advise that it will assist your production skills.

On a another note I read a great write up from RADAR called 10 THINGS ARTISTS SHOULD DO TO GET MUSIC HEARD. You can never have enough information. Check it out.

http://www.radarmusic.com.au/news/news/10-things-artists-should-do-to-get-their-music-heard.aspx

Has anyone purchased the new MBox? I have heard some great things about the converters, let me know your thoughts.

I'll leave it @ that for now peeps but if you have any words of wisdom you would like to share with the rest of our community just email me direct.

Love and Respect always.

25 000 hits on this website peeps!...As you can imagine I am very proud of this. I have watched the showcase grow over the last 4 years and it has been a dream of mine to be involved in bringing artists together. It has proven to be a successful website and I can't thank you all enough for being a part of it

I have been receiving messages from artists who are looking for producers to collaborate with musically. Obviously we collaborate with artists but we have a few projects going at the moment, therefore it may be a while before we can look at new collaborations. What I thought I would do is post the the names of some other producers within this showcase. If they aren't busy it might be an idea to contact them and see if they are interested. Search and enquire BAKERLANE RECORDS (UK), PRODUCER DAVID SNOW (USA), XAMPLIFY (AUST) and 16 STREET RECORDINGS (AUST)...Like I said they might be busy but ask and see what they say.

Before I go I will post the youtube link of SHOWCASE rock act FACELESS. They have been filming a few music videos and I want everyone here to know if they wish to film there own music video, contact me direct and I'll arrange the same film crew for your video. Have a look

http://www.youtube.com/elementsoffear

While I'm at it here are two promo videos I made to promote the SHOWCASE. Feel free to post them on your facebook pages etc etc.

Ok that's it peeps. If you have recorded any new tracks recently, don't forget to upload them so I can add them to the radio show.

Till next time..

Well it's official, the contract is signed so I'm packing up the studio and heading interstate. I have accepted a production position with one of Australia's largest Radio/Media Companies. I will be in a regional town called Albury. It's location is only a few hours drive from Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra, therefore I am happy to say I will have access to even more independent artists . This re location is actually an expansion of the Label because we will still have Label representatives on the Gold Coast. We will also have a recording studio on the Gold Coast, so I can fly up on weekends and work with artists. http://www.sherwellstudios.com/

After 6 months in production we have just released our latest collaboration track online. It's on my profile so feel free to check it out. It will be on itunes soon! IF U WANT IT (Rictascale feat FACELESS). Here's the link http://rictascale.com/portals/Ricta/

If you have a track that you think is ready for release but you don't know how to get it on itunes why not use our preferred distributor. Interscope Records (Lady Ga Ga, Black Eyed Peas) have a service that distributes your music internationally. To find out more just go to the website, scroll to the very bottom and click "Sell your music through Interscope" http://www.interscope.com/

Well that's it for now. If you have any questions in regards to my long drive south, please feel free to drop an email.

Welcome to 2011. I hope you all have your goals written down on paper 'cause this is the year to tear it up! I would just like to start by welcoming our newest independent label, Bakerlane Records. They are an exciting new label based in the U.K. and I highly advise all artists to check out the profile for more information. Here's the link http://rictascale.com/portals/BAKERLANE_RECORDS/

Believe it or not, I have had correspondence with another Record Label that is keen to join the showcase so this is a great time for all artists to update profiles with any new music or news that may grab attention. There are a number of blank profiles in the showcase that I will be removing over the next week or so. If you are one of the artists without any photos, music or bios uploaded, you may deleted due to our New Year cleaning spree. This doesn't apply to fans with blank profiles

In case you haven't heard we have re produced our streaming radio show. I am very happy with the commercial sound of it and I know it will help promote all showcase members to media peeps and label representatives. Feel free to scroll down and press play

Before I go I want to remind all artists that if you need any advise or assistance you are welcome to email us direct. If we can't help we will use our label resources to find out. That's what this showcase has always been about since we launched it 4 years ago, working together.....

20 000 hits baby!....that's the admin status as we get closer to the end of 2010, and man what a year. The label turned 7 this year and to celebrate, our awesome designers at Sunnyinterative launched our new FLASH homepage, if you haven't seen it yet http://www.rictascale.com/ (Links to all of our social networking profiles are here too).

While we recommend artists use there Rictascale® profile to promote themselves we also understand that as you grow you may need your own website aswell. We have set up a special deal so that all Rictascale® members will receive a discounted rate if they choose Sunnyinteractive as there preferred multimedia designer, info@rictascale.com

The new Rictascale.com LIVE! streaming radio show has been launched with the help of our friends in the media. Scroll down and press play to check it out. It's now hosted by Krysti and myself and we will be adding artist interviews as we go. Thanks again Krysti for taking the time to host it with me

To all producers in the community, I have come across some awesome educational DVDs which you can purchase and download. When it comes to production you can never know too much. These DVDs will answer a lot of questions and teach you how to get a world class sound from your MBox etc etc. Here is the link http://www.secretsofthepros.com/

Before the year is out we will be finishing off our latest Rictascale® feat FACELESS collaboration track ( Sounds awesome so far ). I just want to say a big thanks to XAMPLIFY and LADY LAURYN for getting involved in the current collaborations. The feedback has been amazing and the experience even more so

18 000 hits!....It's Official, Our social networking site for creative peeps just clicked 18 000. Thank you too all members and artists who have helped us thus far. We have a healthy mix of songwriters, singers, MCs, producers and media peeps. Hopefully everyone here is using the site to meet like-minded industry enthusiasts (I like using big words)..
Believe it or not we have stopped inviting new members for the time being. The only reason is because our servers in Washington D.C. are warning us of over loading. We need to buy more server space very soon. We would never want to charge artists membership fees so we have developed a sponsorship schedule. All we need now is an official sponsor. We would prefer a sponsor that will be of benefit to all artists and I guess that's why it has taken so long to arrange. If you know any tech savvy organizations that are on the same page as us all, feel free to pass on our email info@rictascale.com

Before I go I just want to welcome aboard our new production manager Julie Kristen. Her industry experience includes stage production, teaching, artist management and marketing. She is helping me manage the brand as we grow though this current decade. Feel free to drop her an email and say hello julie@rictascale.com

We are working on some ideas that will assist all artists even more so watch out for our next newsletter. Some of our ideas should be up and running by then.

Hey peeps, how have you been? Damn I can't believe we are already half way through 2010..Lightspeed!!

To all our artists in the community, I want to let you know we have some very keen university students looking at your profiles. They have contacted me many times looking for unsigned royalty free music for projects related to there studies. They are multimedia students and I believe helping them will assist your fan base with the next generation of media peeps. Industry nest egg baby!!...We are creating a private server for them to download showcase music however we are only loading music that you send to us direct. Nothing in this showcase will be loaded without your permissions so if you wish to take part, email your mp3s to admin@rictascale.com

We will be loading music onto the server in 2 weeks so you will need to get back to us soon, I will be loading some of my projects too

Are you a professional performer in the Brisbane (AU) area? Our network partners at Multiplay Entertainment are looking for a young performer to work friday nights in a jazz style restaurant. For more info email jodie@multiplayentertainment.com.au

Before I go I wanted to let you all know our 2nd collaboration project has just been released on itunes. Check it out, ALL SEX'D UP_Rictascale feat XAMPLIFY. It has even been getting attention on radio thanks to one of our showcase members, Thanks Krysti
This track is a great example of what this community is all about. Working together to cross promote each others talents. To other producers in our community, I recommend making contact with artists here and start collaborating. Xamplify and I produced this last track without ever meeting face to face, so it's fair to say distance isn't an issue with sites like http://www.sendspace.com/

On recent nights off I have had the pleasure of hangin'out in Brisbane(Aust) and spending time with artists in the Rictascale® community. Hey my peeps (Paula Van Rees and Lachy J Stewart), the two of you were the first artists in this showcase, rock on! A week before I also had a great chat with Jodie Joy (another awesome artist having belief in the early Rictascale® online showcase). OK now your thinkin' Mr Scale is drunk and is dressed in his best pussywear. Maybe a little true (I love pussywear), but I need everyone to feel the love. This world is tough enough to break the soul of any one person. But the world can't break a community of people, yep that's it, people kick **** when they work together.
Look I'll be honest roomies this site hasn't paid for itself yet but I don't care(Clothing label coming soon). Respect can be taken to the afterlife. Money just pays for the music video.
We are about to launch 2 artists from this underground website--more details next time--

Is this the answer to Global Warming?

This post isn't directly linked to the music industry however it is something we feel very passionate about, Global Warming. It has come to our attention that Geothermal Energy hasn't been promoted around the world, infact very few people even know about it. I am amazed because it doesn't require the sun or wind, and it isn't expensive to set up a geothermal plant. THERE IS NO BY PRODUCT FROM GEOTHERMAL ENERGY!! Did you know 70% of the power supply in Iceland is generated by Geothermal plants. We urge everyone in the Rictascale® community to HELP PROMOTE GEOTHERMAL ENERGY. Just google it if you want to know more. It is a realistic approach to global warming, it just needs passionate peeps in the media and music industry to promote it!

Maybe even write a song about it??

Hey peeps, Just a quick update on what we are up too. The new decade is well under way. I have just checked the community stats and our community has just reached 14 000 hits so far. That's alot for an indie social networking site so we are stoked. We have had interest from site sponcers so fingers crossed they will jump on board and help us fund this community. On another note I have started to invite independant record labels to check out the artists, so if you have an artist profile make sure you update your songs, bios and pics. We want you to stand out!!!

Rictascale® is finally trademarked, so we are having meetings in regards to the clothing line, hopefully in few months the first commercial T's and Flat Rims will start hitting the shops. If you are keen to be a clothing wholesaler drop us an email ( admin@rictascale.com )

On the music front we continue to work with MC Lady Lauryn this year. If you're in Australia keep your ears out as she is performing LIVE in a different city every week. Go and watch her LIVE and don't be scared to say hello. Another project we have just started is a collaboration track with Producer/MC Xamplify. It's still under construction but I can tell you It's called "U got me" and myself and Xamplify have teamed up lyrically and vocally. We are having alot of fun with the music this year and hope you are making time to write new tracks too. It's always good to hear new songs from our artists and more often then not we add them to the streaming radio show..

Hey peeps. The year is winding down so it's time to let all of our valued members and friends, in on our plans as we begin a new year and a new decade.
Firstly we will be moving our private studio, therefore it may out of action for a few weeks. I figure it's the best time to move as most businesses are closed over this time. We will continue to develop tracks for Lady Lauryns forthcoming album which is due in 2010. Keep an ear out as it will be huge
In 2010 we will continue to aproach artists in our community and ask them to collaborate with us. Even artists that are outside Australia will be aproached (gotta love the web!). The Rictascale.com community has come along way and we are proud to say we have a healthy mix of songwriters, producers, media and fans. The first stage of the showcase is complete. We are now developing stage two. This means we need to purchase more space on our servers and make room for new members. We are now looking for sponcers. If you know any business
peeps that may benifit from advertising and linking with our community feel free to let them know. We are only releasing two sponcership shedules and they aren't overpriced. ( info@rictascale.com ).
It's not just the start of a new year, it's the start of a new decade therefore we are lauching Rictascale brand clothing and apparel. We are starting small however we believe in time this will be a way of sponcering artists in our community. Tha Australian brandname Billabong is a good example of what we will do except we will be sponcering music peeps. We have a few stores in our area awaiting apparel however all members in the Rictascale.com showcase will be allowed to be direct wholesalers. This could be a great way to make extra cash for a new guitar or music software.
Like I was saying earlier we have a good mix of artists, producers and media peeps so you may be suprised how helpful the showcase is as a networking weapon. The community is getting stronger every year so get involved,
refresh your profile and use the internal msg service. We've worked hard to develop the concept and we want all of our members to benifit.
Ahhhh that's it, thanks for taking the time to read our report and we wish you and you're family love N respect through the holiday season Take care!

2010 whoop whoop!

Are you having problems signing in to your profile? We do know about the problem and we will be fixing it however it doesn't mean you can't sign in. All you have to do is click on an artist page or any other page first. You will be able to sign in from there. The problem only occurs on this link ( showcase.rictascale.com ). It's just a small bug that popped up when we upgraded the community template and skins....

Have you uploaded your songs in HiFi streaming or LoFi streaming? When you upload a song into your Rictascle profile you will notice you can either upload it as HiFi or LoFi. LoFi is an option we have so you can squeeze more music into your profile (Max 100mb). The only problem with uploading you songs in LoFi is that we can't add you music to "Rictascale.com LIVE!" (It's a HiFi streaming radio show). We have found the radio show to be a great promotional tool for all artists, so it may be worth a thought. To be honest your song will sound better in HiFi anyway and most artists haven't used up there 100mb. All good! Any questions? admin@rictascale.com

Hello Rictascale artists and fans...

We at Rictascale Productions are proud to say we have started the website upgrades. You made notice the site going through some changes over the next few weeks, so don't be alarmed. This is our first upgrade since the showcase commenced in late 2007, so we are expecting some teething problems at first. You wont need to do anything at all. We have the good people at JAMROOM, and of course our legendary network partners at SUNNY INTERACTIVE guiding us through.

If have any questions please feel free to contact us

We will send out another newsletter once the new look rictascale.com is complete!

We will be inviting artists from this showcase to do a collaboration track with us in 2009. Even if your over seas.....It's time to make some noise!!!!!!

End of year report

Hello Rictascale.com Member.........

Well it's almost December, and December always gos too fast, another year is almost over! That also means Rictascale.com is almost 1 year old. Very soon we will be upgrading the site to attract more attention from music lovers and industry professionals. This will include a more cutting edge streaming radio show and easy to operate homepage. If you have any thoughts on what we can do please let us know, while we are in this process...........

It's also a good time to let you all know that some artists are know using the merchandise section of this community. It's a free service that allows the artists to sell there products directly from Rictascale.com. If your an artist just sign in to your profile and head to STORE, then click on CREATE ITEM. The item you create will be linked to PayPal so yes, you will need a PayPal account to do business here. It's very cool though
We have had a chat to one of our network members ListenerActive, and they have the technology to set up a service that would allow consumers to purchase your music from a mobile phone. The idea is the same as the ringtone idea however it would be exlusive to Rictascale.com Songwriters. If you are interested in this service again, let us know so we can do more research.....

On another note we have been busy setting up the Rictascale Clothing Brand. Next year you may see some T's and hats on random strangers bearing the Rictascale Brand. "Why set up a clothing label? It isn't related to songwriters", some may ask. Well the idea is to create awareness of the community plus in due time it will assist funding the developing website. In the end our goal is to use the profits to sponcer artists in our community. Much the same way the BILLABONG brand sponcers elite surfers. Wish us luck..........

Before I sign off I just want to remind all artists to have a look at the International Songwriting Contest. You have until Dec 1st to regester your original track and it looks like you can do it all online. Here is the link

Thankyou to those who have helped us promote the site this year, word of mouth promotion works.........

Thats all for now, have a Merry Xmas and a safe new year kids

Note to all artists!

Music downloading is protected on your rictascale.com profile. All you have to do is make sure your profile mp3s are set to STREAMING ONLY. We have set this as a default however it's worth double checking. To confirm just sign in, note under songs is MODIFY SONGS, click on a song which will open the upload details. Scroll down a little and you will notice DOWNLOADING, DOWNLOADING & STREAMING and STREAMING ONLY. Of course you can allow fans to download you music but we felt you have the right to know.
If you wish to allow fans to purchase your music you can use the merchandise section of your profile. The details you add to this service are directly linked to PayPal, therefore you must have a PayPal account. We do not take any moneys for this service therefore we are not responsble for your dealings with fans in this case.
To cover the cost of providing this service we are looking into advertising and sponcership as a way of purchasing more space on our servers in Washington, U.S. This may also mean selling air-time on our streaming radio show "Rictascale.com LIVE!"
Once again we felt you have a right to know how this community will work for everyone as it expands.

Don't be to shy to make contact with others on this site, as we all know networking works!

Cheers!
